PROMISES & COMMITMENTS
MARIA BATTAGLIA, RESPONSIBLE RAW MATERIALS
From day one, Maria Battaglia has been committed to a comprehensive approach to respect and protection. First and foremost, this applies to the environment, but also to her partners, with a concrete commitment to her suppliers through thoughtful choices for her brand. She thus embodies a new idea of jewellery that is conscious and ethical.

RESPONSIBLE JEWELLERY COUNCIL CERTIFIED WORKSHOPS
The brand's jewellery is manufactured in Italy and Spain, in workshops renowned for their expertise and responsible practices. For several generations, talented master jewellers have followed in each other's footsteps, working to preserve their craft while respecting jewellery-making traditions and the environment. As proof of this commitment, the workshops are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. This certification covers the entire supply chain, from the extraction of metals and stones to production. It guarantees the complete traceability of the raw materials used and attests to the good working conditions of the artisans.

RAW MATERIALS FROM RESPONSIBLE SOURCES
Maria Battaglia also takes great care in sourcing the raw materials used in her creations. The extraction of rare metals and stones can be devastating for the planet, contributing to deforestation, groundwater pollution and the degradation of natural habitats. By sourcing from responsible mining communities, the brand ensures that the environmental impact of its activities is controlled and significantly reduced. Its stone suppliers are committed to sustainable mining practices and refuse to use toxic substances or aggressive processes. The stones are therefore extracted in a controlled manner with the utmost respect for the environment.

DIAMONDS CERTIFIED BY THE KIMBERLEY PROCESS
The fine jewellery brand Maria Battaglia is committed to sourcing only diamonds certified by the Kimberley Process. This certification scheme guarantees that the stones do not originate from the illicit trade in rough diamonds and that the profits have not been used to finance armed conflicts.
It requires diamonds to be accompanied by a certificate of origin and imposes controls on trade, prohibiting trade with non-signatory countries.

MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD: ETHICS
Maria has chosen to use recycled gold in her creations. Sourced from old jewellery, unsold items and production leftovers, the material is melted down and reused, giving it a second life. By revaluing gold in this way, the founder is making a choice for the environment, choosing not to exploit new deposits, the extraction of which is highly polluting, and to preserve the planet's natural resources. It also guarantees respect for human rights, which are regularly violated due to the very difficult working conditions imposed by extracting countries.

LOCAL AND SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
Keen to minimise her brand's environmental footprint, Maria has chosen to have her jewellery made using a short, controlled supply chain. She has entrusted the creation of her jewellery to workshops in Italy and Spain that are renowned for their expertise. The pieces are produced in small batches to avoid overproduction and unnecessary exploitation of mineral resources. The weaving and assembly of her pouches is carried out in Europe.
