Niculinuccia Necklace

In Corsica, all along the paths, crosses are signs for the inhabitants and guides for pilgrims. More than a religious motif, they symbolize the land of welcome and protection. They are located at the entrance to the villages, they display the houses as a sign of welcome. Planted on the highest point of the mountains, they dominate the valley and serve as a landmark for travellers. Maria Battaglia was inspired by this motif to create several of her creations: a bracelet, a necklace and a pair of earrings. Worn around the neck or wrist, the cross then becomes a lucky charm for the wearer.
